Wool Pre-school employs ten members of staff who are enthusiastic, experienced, and experts in early years. We are proud that all staff members have early year’s qualifications and experience (for further information about our staff refer to page 7 of the pre-school prospectus).  All pre-school staff are also trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection and we work with local Children’s Services when families and children require additional support. Each individual child is supported by a key member of pre-school staff (known as your child’s key-person) whilst they attend the pre-school. They will work with parents and child to plan activities for each child that are of particular interest and importance to them.

During all sessions activities are organised so that children can develop independence in selecting and using resources, so that children can develop confidence and skills in using a wide range of activities available indoors and outside.

Children are encouraged to take part in adult led small and large group activities, which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others. Activities outdoors contribute to children’s health and physical development and promote children’s love of being outdoors and interacting with nature.

The pre-school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, assessing all children’s development using this statutory government document. For further information refer to Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS) www.foundationyears.org.uk/eyfs-2014/‎
