We have been preparing the Pre-school ready for the new term and are looking forward to welcoming back all children and parents and a special welcome to all the new children joining us this term.

September is always a lovely term to get outside and enjoy the last of the summer, and our garden has apples. carrots, beans and spring onions ready to be harvested by the children.

For those children starting primary schools we wish you a happy start in your chosen schools.

Our Topic this half term is Nursery Rhymes with a focus on developing language skills and rhythm. Learning nursery rhymes is an excellent way to develop confidence in language skills and extend children’s vocabulary. Rhymes can teach number skills, learning to count forwards and backwards. The repetitive nature of nursery rhymes can contribute to developing early literacy skills, in addition the children’s enjoyment of music, rhythm and rhyme will support their development of expressive arts. We hope you can join in at home.
